Seattle Tech Working Set: Careers, Builds & Useful Introductions
Meet Seattle tech folks, talk careers, share what you’re building, and make genuinely useful connections—in person.
Seattle Tech Working Set
Better networking starts before you ask, “So, what do you do?”
Seattle has no shortage of people working in technology.
The harder question is:
Who in the room would actually be useful for you to meet?
Seattle Tech Working Set is a deliberately small professional exchange for people who are:
- building;
- operating;
- hiring;
- changing professional direction;
- exploring new opportunities;
- experimenting with new technology;
- trying to understand what is changing around their work.
There are no keynote speakers.
There is no stage of startup pitches.
There is no open-floor mixer where a name tag is the entire networking strategy.
Instead, the evening begins with three questions:
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?
What project, product, professional challenge or direction currently has your attention?
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO FIGURE OUT?
What question, obstacle or decision are you actively working through?
WHO WOULD BE USEFUL FOR YOU TO MEET?
What type of professional perspective could make that next step more informed?
Paid attendees provide this context before event day.
The organizer uses it to prepare most table placements and potential introductions in advance.

Pre-Event Matching Model
Working Set profiles should close approximately 24 hours before the event.
Organizer prepares at least 80% of room matching before doors open.
Pre-event work includes:
Round One cluster placement;
Round Two cluster placement;
candidate introductions;
Connection Match priority review.
Only approximately 10–20% of placements should require onsite adjustment for:
cancellations;
no-shows;
late registrations;
attendee updates.
The organizer should never attempt to manually match all 32 people during check-in.
Room Structure
Target:
8 conversation clusters × approximately 4 attendees
If the venue uses larger tables, each physical table should still be divided into smaller conversational clusters.
Avoid operating an 8-person table as one discussion.
