Blue Moon Marquee play swing blues that jumps, grooves and howls. Guitarist and singer A.W. Cardinal grew up in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, and singer Jasmine Colette, who plays upright bass and drums, comes from the Alberta badlands. They write their own songs in the spirit of old swing, jump and gutbucket blues, and now make their home on the British Columbia coast.
Their album Scream, Holler & Howl won the 2024 Juno Award for Blues Album of the Year after the duo swept four 2023 Maple Blues Awards, Entertainer of the Year among them. The Blues Foundation nominated them for Emerging Artist at the Blues Music Awards. Tonight they come to Union Square as a trio, with Peter Cormier on keys.
