Hi my name is Rebekah. I’m originally from South Dakota but have been living here in New York for 3 years. My grandfather’s influence is one of the main reasons I was drawn to dancing. From a young age my grandparents used to show me and my siblings old Hollywood movies such as “An American in Paris” “West side story” and “Singing in the rain” were some of my favorites. They were artists themselves working as film producers/directors and running a music club. Because of this I fell in love with the arts and especially dancing. I found my own expression through movement and passion in performing. I started training&competing in commercial styles mostly but always hungered for more versatility. I traveled around a lot attending different programs and was exposed to a wide range of styles/techniques. The year of 2024 I auditioned and became a member of team USA/USTD and competed as a soloist in Poland later that year. I was also given a scholarship to attend the Joffrey Ballet School as a trainee which is when I made the move to NYC! There I was given the technical training i needed and found myself falling in love with ballet. I have such a huge respect for the art form and am grateful to be perfecting this practice everyday. I began exploring choreography among other things and found my passion was in Contemporary ballet movement and hoped to expand on this. I recently joined New York Dance Projects Company and am dancing with them for there 2026-2027 season. Some other things I enjoy doing are Photography both portrait and abstract and am working to pursue this professionally as well. Lap swimming
as I used to swim competitively and since still swim almost everyday working towards new goals and lastly I love love to bake and eat sweet treats. I absolutely love this city it has changed my life in many different ways. Something I wrote for myself is “I’ve spent far more time is the process than in the spotlight so my joy is not only in the achievement but in the artistry of becoming” :)
Theme: Halloween/ Trick or Treat
Duration: Approx. 2hrs workshop with a 10 minutes break for costume change.
What to expect: The dancer will dance very slowly and will hold poses in between dance moves. The slow dance movements encourage the artists to attempt to draw the dance movement. Each half is around 30 to 40 min long with mutilple poses and dance segments. Poses start at 30 sec to 1 min for warm up and then we move on to 3min, 5min, 8min poses in the first half and 5 min, 10 min and 15 minutes poses in the second half. Dancer dancers slowly before holding each pose.
