How does large enterprise sustain IAM solutions evolution throughout the years? Detect, Migrate, Adapt, Repeat. How does large enterprise deal with everchanging modern IAM requirements? This question is quite complicated as with time once popular mechanisms become outdated, insecure at the same time modern applications have much broader, specific IAM requirements. In the session audience will explore how If Insurance went through more than 10 years of different IAM solutions. Last couple of years have been devoted to migrate from a simple open source IDP to a modern solution both mitigating security issues and providing extensive IAM functionality. (Language – English) Tags: IAM, Evolution, Scaling, Security Jānis Lācis – Authentication Group Manager at If Insurance. Started out as a developer many years ago while living close by with Microsoft ecosystem – C#, .NET, Azure, etc. During last >7 years Jānis has been working closely not only with MS technologies but on top of that building Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. IAM solutions require quite a lot of attention to detail and specific knowledge to deliver both centralized solutions and consumer specific.

Most people have used apps like Revolut, Bolt or banking applications to verify their identity with a passport and a selfie. The process looks simple, but behind it lies a surprisingly complex combination of document verification, liveness detection, biometrics and fraud prevention. In this session, I will share real-world experience from digital identity and mobile onboarding projects. We will explore how modern mobile apps verify identity documents, what today's technology can and cannot reliably detect, and why preventing identity fraud remains much harder than many people expect. Topics include document authenticity checks, contactless fingerprint capture using a smartphone camera, face liveness detection, and the challenges of distinguishing genuine physical documents from high-quality counterfeits. His work focuses on identity verification, digital onboarding, biometrics and trusted digital identity solutions used by governments and private-sector organizations.

Most online identity checks still rely on a photo of a document. Whatever analysis sits behind them, the result is an estimate of how likely it is that the document is genuine. Now that AI tools can produce convincing fake IDs, that estimate is getting harder to trust. Identity is following the path payment cards took. Tokenisation replaced plain card numbers in mobile wallets, and mobile IDs now replace document images with data signed by the issuing authority. Instead of judging how a document looks, the verifier checks a signature. These IDs already work in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet in a growing number of US states, and every EU member state will soon have to offer one. In this talk I'll explain how the mobile driving licence (mDL) and the ISO 18013-5 standard work. (Language: English) Tags: mDL, Digital Identity, KYC, EUDI Wallet Armands Antans is co-founder of Sehaci, where he is responsible for product and technology. Sehaci helps companies verify customers with mobile driving licences and digital IDs from Apple Wallet, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet, and is a member of the Secure Technology Alliance. Armands has spent more than ten years in card payments, building issuing and acquiring solutions certified by PCI and EMVCo, with a focus on payment security and cryptography.
