Welcome to The Break Room, a new organizing, education, and media space for Southern workers and the labor movement in Atlanta.
For On the Line, organizing the South has always been central to our political vision. Southern workers have the potential to transform not only their workplaces and communities, but the entire U.S. labor movement. In a moment of deep political crisis, building a militant, progressive, fighting workers movement in the South is more urgent than ever.
For the last two years, we’ve built On the Line on a tight budget and through the dedication and creativity of our small team and the critical contributions of many volunteers. Now, we’re putting down roots in the heart of the South.
On the Line is opening a Southern hub for media, education, and organizing in Atlanta — our first permanent office. Join us for the grand opening of The Break Room, Center for Organizing and Education. We’re building much more than an office. We’re building a home for working class media, for workers getting organized, and to share lessons across the struggle to raise up the South and the entire nation.
We’ll have BBQ for dinner included, a panel with special guests on the state of the labor movement and our tasks today, and performances by Atlanta artists. You don’t want to miss this! Come through and bring your coworkers too!
Ticket costs are set to cover the costs of the event and support our fundraising. Solidarity tickets will help us to cover ticket costs for low-wage workers we’ve invited to participate in the opening. Free parking available behind the building in the city lot off Harvard Ave and College St.
