The Death of Parkside

Overview

Every place has a story, and every story has an ending. Join us for three weeks of coursed dinners that push the limits of our creativity.

Every place has a story, and every story has an ending. For four weeks, Parkside Public House tells its own, from the omen that started it to the final night at the table. Each week is a chapter: a coursed dinner by five-time James Beard semifinalist Chef Abbi Merriss, Hunter Haines, and Ronnie Mayo conceived and staged by owner Lexi as a portrait of the restaurant and the people who built it. Myth, family, struggle, and grief, served in sequence. The series ends with The Last Supper, followed by a funeral open to all, because a place built on art and community deserves a proper send-off. Come say goodbye the way we said hello: at the table.

I. The Girl & The Owl

October 16th & 17th at 6pm

Before there was a restaurant, there was an omen. A barred owl, a mural across the street, and a girl who took the sign seriously. The first chapter is an origin myth, a five-course dinner about prophecy, beginnings, the battles that were shaped by ambition, and the call that started it all: who cooks for you? Quiet, nocturnal, and a little uncanny, it's the dinner before the doors ever opened.

II. The Alchemist

October 23rd & 24th at 6pm

Alchemy promises that anything base can become gold, if you survive the fire. The second chapter is a story of transmutation: the darkness of loss and rebuilding, the stripping away of everything nonessential, the first light of hope, and what's left when the work is done. Five courses move through alchemy's stages, from blackened to radiant. It's not the story of a restaurant saved. It's the story of a person changed.

III. The Death of Parkside

October 29th & 30th at 6pm

Every ending moves through grief: denial, anger, bargaining, sorrow, and finally acceptance. The final chapter walks those five stages, course by course, toward The Last Supper, Parkside's final night of service. It's honest, funny, and heartbreaking in turns. The question the owl asked at the beginning gets its answer at the end.
