𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆? When the crowd seems wrong, how do you decide what’s right? When everyone goes along, when should you stand apart? Join a philosophy discussion on the ethics of moral judgment: how to think independently, judge fairly, and stand by your convictions without closing your mind. We’ll explore the tension between getting along with others and speaking up for what you believe is right. When fitting in means staying silent, what happens to your integrity? Let’s talk about:1. How can we judge others rationally without jumping to conclusions?2. When does withholding judgment become a failure to take responsibility?3. Is staying neutral a way to be fair or a way to excuse what’s wrong?4. How can we stand by our principles while remaining open to being wrong? Please read “How Does One Lead a Rational Life in an Irrational Society?” by Ayn Rand before the discussion. https://courses.aynrand.org/works/how-does-one-lead-a-rational-life-in-an-irrational-society Open/Public discussion.
