Featuring work by local artists with different perspectives, practices and lived experiences, ADJACENT looks at what can happen when we don’t fit neatly into one box: when cultures overlap, creative practices cross disciplines, and identity exists somewhere in between.
The exhibition opens Saturday, November 14 at VS. Creative Lab and runs through November 29.
As part of the exhibition, we’re also planning an artist conversation exploring intersectional cultural identity and the ideas behind ADJACENT.
VS. Creative Lab happens to sit just a couple blocks outside the Eastside Culture Crawl boundary and will be open during Culture Crawl weekend, November 19–22, so if you’re already in the neighbourhood exploring art, come a couple blocks further and see what’s happening outside the lines.
