Join us for a special Curatorial Tour & Closing Reception for Against All Odds. Explore the inspirations and ideas behind the curation of this thought-provoking and timely exhibition as the curator shares insights into its creation and impact.
After the Curatorial Tour, we invite you to join the Curator for our Closing Reception to engage in conversation, ask questions, and experience the work from a fresh and personal perspective before closing. This event is concurrent with the Closing Reception and Curatorial Tour for Double Exposure in the Nano Gallery.
Against All Odds, a collection of acrylic-painted textile collages, represents a body of work spanning over 30 years by Black and Brown boys from Washington DC’s most under-served neighborhoods. The collaborative paintings are created within the organization Life Pieces To Masterpieces, a program that started with seven children creating artwork together and now serves over 120 boys from DC’s Wards 7 and 8.
