4 showcases of experimental composition featuring Kory Reeder, Andrew Weathers, Jason Davidoff and Knocked Quartet conducted by Farrell Lowe
Kory Reeder is an American composer and performer whose music, drawing inspiration from the visual arts and political theory, is often introspective with a “rarefied atmosphere” (Bandcamp), his music has been described as “resonant and quietly unsettling” by The Wire and “elegantly consonant and languorous” by Boomkat, investigating ideas of objectivity and immediacy, while exploring the social implications of musical interaction with pieces ranging from symphonic and chamber works to field recording, text scores and computer-assisted improvisations.
Andrew Weathers (1988) is a composer, improviser, and intermedia artist currently based in Pueblo, Colorado after spending formative time in West Texas, the Bay Area, and North Carolina. His work is primarily concerned with place, site, duration, and repetition, explored through field recording, psychogeographic methods, and recursive resonances. Weathers has collaborated alongside a wide swath of artists inhabiting disparate currents of media, approaches, and aesthetics.
Jason Davidoff is a Denver based musician whos work lies between meditative practice and controlled chaos, and is often maninfested through drone, minimalism, noise, free improvisation, folk, americana, and classical compositons.
Knocked Quarted is a new string ensemble that focuses on improvised music compositions.
