Monsters of the Mind

Monsters of the Mind

Overview

This month's theme is cognitive distortion, all the ways our mind creates little monsters. Yoga, therapist guided convos, community.

This is a Mind Body Collective event. The MBC is a social wellness group. We host monthly events that include yoga and diffeerent mental health conversations, guided by their respective professionals. We are a very quickly growing community and would love for you to experience an event with us! This is a space to just show up, try something different, and make new connections.

This month's topic is cognitive distortion. Cognitive distortion is a habitual, often inaccurate pattern of thinking that can cause you to interpret situations, yourself, or the world in a negative or unrealistic way. These thought patterns often happen automatically. They can influence your emotions, behaviors, relationships, and the way you see yourself.

We'll spend about 30 minutes settling into the space, lingering, drinking tea/coffee. Then, an hour long beginner friendly yoga session taught by Chianna Chiem. Followed by a guided group discussion and deep dive into cognitive distortion with Caitlyn Jacquemart, LMFT. And of course, some space and time to linger on the back end.

Co-ed and beginner friendly!
