Author Series brings elementary and middle grade educators together to write, collaborate, and inspire creative student writing.
SNWP Writer Inspiring Writers: Author Series Welcomes Children's Author Patricia Tanumihardja
Join us in person or virtually for a fun and inspiring writing experience with Patricia Tanumihardja, children's book author! Every food has a story, and every storyteller has a food story. In this workshop, Pat will share how food—a dish, recipe, or ingredient—can be a portal to telling stories about our family, our culture, and our past.
This hands-on professional learning experience invites elementary and middle school educators and young writers (grades 2–12) to imagine, write, illustrate, and innovate alongside Pat, Southern Nevada Writing Project directors, and teacher-consultants. Participants will explore how writing thrives in community, discover how mentor texts elevate student writing, and collaborate to strengthen instruction and align it with standards.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Credit Information for CCSD Educators:
- Earn 1 Continuing Unit (CU) for attending
- Earn 2 additional CUs by engaging in 6 hours of follow-up response work
