THE BIG ASHTRAY
A film by Vasco Sousa
51 min. · 2026
In a closed room, a man who may be guilty of something terrible prepares for the arrival of an unknown figure who promises eternal rapture.
Shot in Brooklyn over six days in 2022 and completed four years later, The Big Ashtray is a handmade film about solitude, misery, memory, and the passage of time.
Join us for a special New York preview at Film Noir Cinema on November 11, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers moderated by Emma Broadbent, and an after-party reception.
Every ticket includes a limited-edition The Big Ashtray zine and mini poster.
