Overview

Make a cheese slicer board using hardwoods and Rockler tools! Beginner-friendly class. Ages 14+. Take your board home!

In this hands-on woodworking class, you’ll create a custom cheese slicer board using maple and padauk hardwoods and the Rockler Cheese Slicer Hardware Kit of your choice. You’ll learn fundamental woodworking techniques as you glue, flatten, shape, sand, finish, and assemble a functional kitchen project. The completed board will measure approximately 8" x 11" x ¾".

What You’ll Do:

  • Purchase your preferred Rockler cheese slicer hardware kit when signing in for the class
  • Glue up your board using precut maple and padauk hardwood strips and Rockler’s Mini Deluxe Panel Clamps
  • Flatten both sides of the board using a drum sander
  • Square both ends and cut the slicing kerf using a Festool Kapex Miter Saw
  • Drill the mounting hole required for the cheese slicer hardware
  • Round over the board’s edges using a trim router
  • Shape and sand the edges, corners, and surfaces using tools such as a bandsaw or jigsaw, spindle or belt sanders, and Rockler sanding tools
  • Do a final sanding and mount the optional non-slip rubber feet
  • Install your purchased Rockler Cheese Slicer Hardware Kit

Hardware kits are purchased separately at the store on the class. Prices range from $14.99-$17.99 plus applicable local sales tax.

  • Parents or guardians supervising a minor do not need to purchase a separate ticket
  • Attendees will be using power tools—proper safety instruction and equipment will be provided
  • Class duration is approximate
  • Each attendee takes home their completed cheese slicer board with their purchased hardware kit installed
