Celebrating the launch of our free community songbook supported by Havering London.
THE PARTY
Join us for a celebration of folk song from around the world. The evening will be in two parts: 7-7:45, a selection of four-part harmony arrangements from our songbook, featuring RCB members and guest artists. 7:45 free food. 8-9pm a singalong with members of the Romford Ceilidh Band. No experience required. All welcome.
THE PROJECT
Supported through Havering London's 'Our Stories' grant and Open Sound, Music & Research CIC, RCB has created a free community song book with over 90 classic and modern folk tunes that represent the heart of our community music making. We have worked with composers and archivists from across the UK and internationally to bring you this professionally edited volume compiled by RCB members.
THE BAND
Romford Ceilidh Band was founded by two Havering locasl in 2023 with a mission to inject life in to collective singing and music making. We have run over 200 events in the last 3 years. This songbook is culmination of thousands of hours singing, researching, and love. We're excited to have you with us as we launch this free community resource.
