Georgian Wines on the Denver Hyatt Centric Rooftop

Georgian Wines on the Denver Hyatt Centric Rooftop

Overview

Join Denver AWS for a unique opportunity to learn about and taste wines from the country of Georgia paired with genuine Georgian cuisine!

Join us at Apple Blossom Rooftop at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver for a unique opportunity to learn about and taste the wines of the country of Georgia, accompanied by a dinner featuring genuine Georgian cuisine.

With 8,000 years of winemaking history, Georgia is globally recognized as the “cradle of wine”. Archeological evidence proves the country has an unbroken history of viticulture, dating back to 6,000 BCE. Nestled between mountain ranges and fertile valleys, Georgia is a land of majestic beauty where ancient traditions meet modern innovation. Its exciting and dynamic winemaking legacy is inseparable from its vibrant culture and cuisine. These days, wine lovers and sommeliers alike are turning their attention to this ancient region, home to over 500 indigenous grape varietals. From crisp whites to unique reds and skin-contact amber wines, these wines are versatile in food pairings.

Our speaker, Lasha Abashidze, is a native of Georgia and is the Colorado importer of Kartveli Georgian wines. He will lead us through the stories and experiences of a genuine Georgian meal. Join us for this unique experience at Apple Blossom Rooftop at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver.

Apple Blossom’s Sommelier, Kinga Mackowiak, is an avid champion of these wines and has created a special meal with the culinary team to pair with our wines, which will showcase ancient underground amphora (qvevri) aging and modern barrel aging. Get your “wine geek” on and learn about this fascinating region with AWS.
