Echo Lubimovka LA 2026
Independent Festival of Russian-language drama. Two days, six play ridings in English and Russian with subs.
ECHO LUBIMOVKA LA returns for its third annual festival of contemporary Russian-language drama.
Over two festival days, we will present six staged readings of new plays, bringing together playwrights, directors, and actors from Los Angeles and beyond.
This year’s program features three readings in Russian and three in English, making contemporary Russian-language drama accessible to an even broader audience.
Each reading will be followed by a conversation with the creative team, giving audiences a chance to discuss the play and the themes it explores. All readings will be presented with corresponding subtitles.

First reading "Confusion" by Aliaksei Makeichik, rus+subs
Denis comes to psychotherapist Marta looking for help, but as their conversations unfold, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell who is the patient and who is doing the healing. Funny, vulnerable, and full of unexpected turns, Confusion is a story about two people trying to make sense of their fears, relationships, and themselves — and perhaps finding each other in the process.
