The Art of Knife Skills
$120 plus tax per guest. A 90-minute class with Chef Robbie Rensel, limited to 32 guests. Each date is a standalone class.

Join Chef Robbie Rensel at The Luxury Tree House for a focused, hands-on knife-skills class. Learn how to set up your cutting station, hold your knife comfortably, guide your cuts safely and work with greater consistency.
Every guest has a knife, cutting board and produce for direct practice. Chef Robbie demonstrates each technique, then guides you through cutting vegetables, herbs and citrus, with time for questions and individual corrections.
Learn the skills you will use every time you cook, from slicing an onion and dicing a pepper to cutting delicate herbs and segmenting citrus. Finish with practical guidance on honing, sharpening, cleaning and storing your knives.
This is a dedicated cutting-practice class. No recipes are prepared, and no meal is included.
What guests will learn
- Choosing the right knife for the task.
- Stable cutting-board setup, proper grip and guiding-hand position.
- Slicing, dicing, chopping, julienne and fine mincing.
- Working with onions, carrots, celery, peppers and cabbage.
- Cutting delicate herbs and basil ribbons.
- Peeling and segmenting citrus.
- Honing versus sharpening, cleaning and safe storage.

About Chef Robbie
Chef Robbie Rensel began working in professional kitchens at age fifteen and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, with degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Business Management. Through Savory Celebration and The Luxury Tree House, he brings together food, teaching and hospitality. His classes focus on practical technique, distinctive flavors and skills guests can use in their own kitchens.

What to wear
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for working in a kitchen and closed-toe shoes. Tie back long hair.
Participation
Classes include hands-on work at shared kitchen islands. Knife-skills guests each have a knife and cutting board for individual practice. Taco and salmon guests work together to prepare the class menu.
