'BLACK HAUSE' PRESENTS THE DARTY @ FRANKLIN PARK | SUN 10/18

Some parties happen in a venue. Others get a piece of the city.

On Sunday, October 18, Black Hause is stepping outside for The Big Darty, an open-air celebration taking over Franklin Park in the heart of Washington, DC.

And this isn’t just any park.

Dating back to the 1800s, Franklin Park has long been one of Downtown DC’s most important gathering spaces. Its history is deeply connected to the city’s Black community, including serving as the site of a major Emancipation Day celebration in 1866, when thousands of Black Washingtonians gathered in the park.

More than a century later, a new generation gets its moment.

And the timing couldn’t feel more fitting.

The Big Darty lands during Howard Homecoming weekend, when alumni, students, creatives, professionals and friends from across the country return to Washington for one of the most celebrated weekends in Black culture.

As the city fills with familiar faces and homecoming energy, Black Hause is creating a Sunday gathering of its own, bringing together music, food, drinks, games, vendors and thousands of people for what is shaping up to be one of the largest Black Hause experiences to date!

For a brand built around creating spaces for Black people to dance, connect and experience house music together, there’s something special about doing it on this scale, in this location, during a weekend that already means so much to the culture of DC.

No dark club walls. No complicated theme.

Just the city, the music, the people and one very big afternoon outside.
