This lecture honors the vision and intellectual legacy of Dr. Hisham Sharabi, the founder of The Jerusalem Fund and Palestine Center. This year, we are honored to host Susan Buck-Morss. Susan Buck-Morss is a political theorist, philosopher, and cultural critic known for her interdisciplinary work in critical theory, visual studies, and global political thought. Distinguished Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center and Professor Emerita at Cornell, she is acclaimed for linking Hegel's master–slave dialectic to the Haitian Revolution in Hegel, Haiti, and Universal History, which won the Frantz Fanon Prize. Her influential books include Dialectics of Seeing, Dreamworld and Catastrophe, and Thinking Past Terror, often blending philosophical argument with visual culture analysis.
