You Want To Want is Chicken Shop Hermits’ latest interdisciplinary exhibition. After the positive reception of their previous projects My Haunted Dollhouse (The Tate Institute, 2024) and An Anthology of Fear (MEZZANINE, 2025), this year the collective reunited to explore the theme of ‘desire’.
The Hermits curated a space for unspoken, pulsating yearnings to emerge: the desperate need for yet another pair of shoes; the unsatiable crave for a chicken shop meal; a sudden and unexplainable crush; the longing for a home to truly call one’s own.
Fetish and sex, queerness and love, migration and home—our artists responded to the subject with their own stories and perspectives, often implying an interesting connection to the realm of childhood. Join us all where your desire can be safely held.
