Rooted in Flavor: Savor The Bay Boutique Dinner

Join us at Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar for Rooted in Flavor, a one-night-only pairing dinner presented as part of the Savor the Bay Boutique Dinner Series.

Executive Chef Cristian Ruiz invites guests on a culinary journey inspired by his Venezuelan roots through four thoughtfully crafted courses that reinterpret the flavors and ingredients that shaped his cooking. Each course will be accompanied by a curated beverage pairing from the Riboli family of brands, with selections spanning wine, spirits and specialty pours designed to complement Chef Cris’ menu.

More than a traditional wine dinner, Rooted in Flavor is an exploration of how food and drink can tell a story together, bringing Chef Cris’ heritage to the table through unexpected pairings, bold flavors and a modern Sal Y Mar perspective.

Menu:

First Course | Piña Glazed Shrimp

Seared jumbo shrimp with caramelized pineapple glaze, avocado purée, charred pineapple salsa, ají dulce oil and crispy plantain.

Paired with Urlar Sauvignon Blanc

Second Course | Auyama Velouté

Creamy Venezuelan squash soup finished with blue crab, sweet corn, queso fresco espuma, cilantro oil, toasted pepitas and micro herbs.

Paired with Jada Hell’s Kitchen White Blend

Third Course | Asado Negro de Short Rib

Slow-braised beef short rib lacquered in traditional asado negro reduction, served with silky yuca purée, roasted baby carrots and panela jus.

Paired with Opaque Malbec

Fourth Course | Cachapa de Tres Leches

Warm corn cake, coconut tres leches, tropical compote and toasted cacao nibs.

Paired with a Butter Toffee Brandy Cocktail
