2026 Weber Grill Thanksgiving Master Class

2026 Weber Grill Thanksgiving Master Class

Overview

Learn and Master Thanksgiving with Weber Grill Masters Dustin Green & Jason Pruitt and Dr. Michael Cressman of The Ohio State University.

Take your Thanksgiving cooking to the next level with a day dedicated to the turkey, grilling techniques, flavor development, and science behind the holiday meal. Led by Weber Head Grill Master Dustin Green, Weber Grill Master Jason Pruitt, and Ohio State University Associate Professor Dr. Michael Cressman, this demonstration style master class brings together grilling expertise and poultry science for an in-depth look at Thanksgiving from the bird to the table.

The day begins with Turkey 101, taking a closer look at the star of the Thanksgiving table. This session explores turkey breeds, how turkeys are raised, what to look for when selecting a bird, and the timeline of a turkey's development from egg to the Thanksgiving table. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the bird itself before getting into the techniques used to prepare and cook it.

Next, the class moves to Pit and Grill Setup, including an exploration of fuel and wood. The session examines the characteristics of different fuel types and woods and how they can influence heat, cooking performance, and flavor.

A Turkey Taste Test follows, featuring multiple turkeys prepared with different brines. This side-by-side tasting demonstrates how brining can influence the flavor, moisture, and texture of turkey and provides a practical way to understand the impact of different preparation techniques.

Guests will then enjoy a Thanksgiving-inspired lunch before continuing into the afternoon's educational sessions.

The afternoon focuses on the techniques that help bring the Thanksgiving meal together, including brines and seasonings, turkey finishing and slicing, knife selection and technique, side dishes, and creative ideas for Thanksgiving leftovers.

Throughout the day, Weber Grill Masters Dustin Green and Jason Pruitt share practical grilling knowledge and techniques, while Dr. Michael Cressman brings the science of poultry to the conversation. Together, they explore not just how to prepare a great Thanksgiving meal, but why the techniques work.
