Actors read the new play by the burgeoning playwright in the Salmagundi Parlor
About MISTAKE
Emerging into self-awareness, an unmarried woman shares the story of
her life in the Midwest, through the lens of her twenties, thirties, and
now early forties. From this intimate telling, she discovers the profound
value of acceptance, an acceptance that reveals our deepest growth is
born not only from our own mistakes, but also from what we believe are
mistakes of the people we love.
GEORGE ADAMCZYK
Following a forty-year career as a respected residential design-builder in
Chicago, George recently moved to New York City to pursue his interest
in playwriting. His literary training includes critical reading of fiction, as
well as short story and play writing, at The Barrow Group, HB Studio,
the University of Chicago, and The Newberry Library. George has
written five plays: Memoir, Frigid Air, Grease Monkey, Currency, and
Mistake, and is currently writing his sixth play, Mañana. He is grateful
to the director, actors, and organizers at The Coffee House Club, as well
as Salmagundi Club, for bringing Mistake to life.
