DPP & Traceability: DPP for Steel – On the Verge of Implementation

The Digital Product Passport & Traceability Event Series returns for its 3rd edition!

On 25 November 2026, the DPP community will meet in Rome, Italy, for a dedicated event focusing on one of the sectors at the forefront of Digital Product Passport implementation: steel.

Under the title “DPP for Steel – On the Verge of Implementation,” the event will bring together policymakers, industry representatives, technology experts, researchers, standardisation experts and European initiatives to discuss the transition from DPP concepts and regulatory requirements towards real-world implementation.

The event will provide a forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences on key topics including DPP implementation in the steel value chain, traceability, interoperability, data sharing, carbon footprint and environmental information, standardisation, and digital solutions supporting circularity and sustainability.

The SMARTCHAIN project will be featured during this edition, highlighting its contribution to the digital transformation of the steel value chain and its work towards secure data sharing, interoperability and collaboration across the steel ecosystem.
