Arthur Frazier III, AIA

Arthur E. Frazier III, AIA is a licensed architect and the Director of Facilities Management & Services at Spelman College. He was born in Louisville, KY and attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received a bachelor’s degree in Design of the Environment and a Master’s of Architecture. Art’s career has included practicing architecture, managing design & construction projects and facilities management. Under Art’s leadership the facilities department at Spelman has been nationally recognized as a leader in sustainability among historically Black colleges, received the President’s 2008 Award for Excellence in Customer Service, a 2016 Sustainability Award from APPA and recently had a scholarship named in his honor by the Sustain our Future Foundation. Art is co-chair of Sustainable Spelman, serves as chairman of the board of directors of the University Community Development Corporation and is a past president of the Georgia Chapter of APPA.

The Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation and the Arts (CI&A) is a cross-disciplinary, collaborative learning environment designed to unite artistic expression with cutting-edge technology while enriching the student experience and advancing Spelman College’s legacy of excellence and innovation.

Named in honor of Spelman’s 10th president, the state-of-the-art facility embodies a vision for a dynamic environment where students pursuing STEAM—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—can engage, collaborate, create, and innovate.
