Twist of Tradition: Hands-On Challah – Mizrachi Heritage Month with JIMENA
We’re celebrating Mizrahi Heritage Month with flavors inspired by Jewish communities across the Middle East and North Africa.
Get your hands in the dough and explore fragrant spices, savory herbs and sweet ingredients that bring a new twist to your challah.
Mix, fill and top your loaf with flavors like za’atar, sumac, date, tahini, sesame, cardamom and rose. Come ready to experiment, braid and take home a challah inspired by the rich and varied food traditions of Mizrahi Jewish life.
Whether you're learning for the first time or returning to a familiar ritual, braid your own challah to take home and bake, then fill your kitchen with the comforting aroma of fresh bread and Shabbat.
Drop in on fourth Fridays for a fresh twist each month, from seasonal flavors and creative braids to beloved classics.
All are welcome. No culinary experience needed.
RSVP encouraged. Drop-in welcome while supplies last.
