We're starting something new. Inspired by my Substack (avachanel.substack.com) and the same spirit as our Dark Romance Book Club, this time we're the ones putting words on the page — writing, reading aloud (or anonymously), and giving each other real feedback in a space that's consensual, respectful, and genuinely fun.

Whether you've been writing smut in a locked folder for ten years or you've never shared a page with another human being, this club is for you.

📅 When & Where

• Meets: First Sunday of the month
• Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Location: St. Mark's Coffeehouse, basement level

✍️ What to Expect

Each session will have a loose structure so it never feels like homework:

1. Housekeeping & announcements — quick logistics, upcoming dates, anything the group needs to know
2. 5-minute meditation — a short pause to clear the space and settle in before we dive in
3. Introductions — especially for new faces
4. Check-in & prompt reveal — a theme, trope, or prompt (optional — bring whatever you're already working on too)
5. 30 minute writing block — when you are finished, set your work aside and keep talking to a minimum to respect those who are still writing.
6. Reading — share a 5-minute excerpt, read live, have someone else read it for you, or share it silently in Discord beforehand. Total anonymity is always an option.
7. Feedback round — structured, consent-based critique (see ground rules below)
8. Open floor — talk craft, kink, publishing, pen names, whatever's useful
9. Q&A — bring questions for the group or for hosting

No one is required to share every session. Showing up to just listen and support is completely welcome.

🔒 Ground Rules

This is an 18+ space, no exceptions. This applies to members, guests, and any characters/scenarios discussed — no content involving minors will be shared, discussed, or tolerated, full stop.

Consent culture applies to feedback, not just fiction.

• Before you share, you'll be asked: "Do you want feedback, or just a space to be heard?" Both are valid.
• No unsolicited critique. If someone shares and doesn't ask for notes, respect that.
• Feedback is on the writing — pacing, structure, voice, tension — not a referendum on someone's kinks, desires, or fantasies. Kink-shaming of any kind gets you removed from the room.

Confidentiality: what's shared in the club stays in the club. Chatham House Rule — you can talk about themes and ideas discussed, but don't repeat, screenshot, or attribute specific writing or personal details to anyone outside this space without their explicit go-ahead.

Anonymity is always an option. Use a pen name, have someone else read your work, submit text-only with no names attached — however you need to feel safe sharing, we'll make it work.

Zero tolerance for: content sexualizing minors, non-consensual harassment of members, doxxing, or using this space to solicit outside of its stated purpose.
