The Dewdrops are a New Orleans funk and soul collective formed by graduates of Loyola University's Jazz Studies program, led by vocalist Alicia Ynez, a Cochabamba, Bolivia-born singer who blends her South American musical roots with a deep appreciation for classic jazz traditions and the rich, soulful sounds of New Orleans. The band has been a fixture on the city's club circuit since forming, and tonight marks the release of their debut album Dew Sum!, a milestone for one of the most promising young ensembles to emerge from the city's fertile jazz and soul underground.
