About the Alliance for American Leadership

On July 21, we gave 1,000 USAID flags to Members of Congress and their staff.

The flags now hang in offices across Capitol Hill. Each one says the same thing: USAID lives, and the American people have not forgotten.

The flags were one day. The fight is every day.

We don't have an office. Every morning, our interns work out of the Capitol cafeteria, briefing Members of Congress. We have held more than 1,200 meetings with congressional offices since USAID was dismantled.

But we are not only in the Capitol. Our organizers reach into every single congressional district across the country. That is what turns our briefings into political power. Every week, we make 35,000 calls for candidates who stand up for global development. We are building a real foreign policy constituency.

Why now

The Lancet projects 14 million people will die unless we reverse cuts to foreign assistance programs.

Congress will not act unless someone is in the room every single day, naming the people who have died. That is our job. We do it every morning.

Who pays for this

No corporation, billionaire, or institution funds any part of our work. We rely solely on individual Americans who believe our country should do the right thing.
