Jazz & Heritage Concert Series: Conjunto Tierra Linda

The Jazz & Heritage Concert Series kicks off with an evening of music that moves you featuring Conjunto Tierra Linda!

Get ready to dance to the sounds of Latin jazz with Conjunto Tierra Linda on Saturday, October 3rd, beginning at 8:00 pm at George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center (1205 N Rampart Street).

Making their Jazz & Heritage Concert Series debut, the 12-piece Latin dance band is led by singer, bassist, and arranger Gabriel Case with Victor Campbell on piano, Xavier Molina on congas, Jafet Perez on timbales, Casar Solano on bongos, Peter Gustafson and Glennon Davalos on trombone, Omar Ramirez and Bed Delgado on trumpet, Andrea Beltrán on lead vocals and coro, and Miguel Villavicencio on coro and percussion. The epic combination of Latin-filled percussion with roaring horns make for a musical utopia you won't want to miss!

Tickets are $10 and seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 7:00 pm and the concert begins promptly at 8:00 pm.

About Conjunto Tierra Linda:

Emerging out of the festive musical landscapes of New Orleans, Conjunto Tierra Linda connected a community of fans and developed a strong local following by playing eclectic, original, Latin dance music. Porch performances during the pandemic and backyard neighborhood dance parties lit a flame on the street and gave the Conjunto an endearing following. They soon moved on to play clubs and festivals, but never left their local roots.

The 12-piece Orchestra of Beautiful Land brings a raw energy to their live performances that is decidedly dedicated to the dancers. Cuban rumba, son, salsa and timba are all represented in their extended sets and there are also strong influences of Latin-Jazz in their horn arrangements.

The band is led by West Coast native singer, bassist and arranger Gabriel Case who grew up surrounded by musical parents and a Spanish-speaking extended family. He got to work studying the greats from Cuba, Puerto Rico, NY and the different eras, styles, rhythms and cultural connections of Latin dance music. Gabe recently relocated to New York but plans to keep the Conjunto going and growing.

With their debut self-titled album released in 2023, the band is eager to get back into the studio and record their latest musical offerings.
