Join The Book Club as we partner with MOK STUDIO to present another edition of The Book Club: Lounge. This event creates a third space for our community, where intellectual pressure is set aside in favor of relaxed connection and enjoyment.

This session will be centred around Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange. Released in 2012, Channel Orange is Frank Ocean’s critically acclaimed debut studio album. Blending R&B, soul, funk and electronic music, the album explores unrequited love, desire, loneliness, privilege and emotional distance. Through vivid storytelling and cinematic production, Frank Ocean presents a collection of interconnected characters and experiences that capture the complicated ways people search for intimacy and belonging. We'll be diving into the stories behind the album and it's content.

MOK STUDIO, located in the lobby of record label PIAS, is a unique listening and coffee bar featuring an exotic HiFi setup and custom-made furniture designed around its bar and music system. Enjoy a selection of high-end coffees, including hand brews and Strietman Espresso.

We will focus on an album played on MOK STUDIO’s state-of-the-art record player and HiFi sound system. The Book Club will provide themed Book Club cards to spark conversation among attendees. Additionally, chess and other board games will be available for your enjoyment.
