Overview

Tour three Detroit developments, hear from the developers behind them, and connect with the people building Detroit’s future.

Get an inside look at the people, projects, financing, and strategies shaping Detroit’s development landscape.

Join the Real Estate Association of Developers for the Fall 2026 Black Developer Bus Tour on Thursday, October 8. This immersive experience takes attendees beyond project renderings and headlines for an educational look inside three active Detroit developments.

Featured Projects:

The Oakland

Discover how Stafford House transformed a vacant, 100-year-old North End building into a mixed-use development featuring 10 apartments, four commercial spaces, a café opportunity, and below-market housing for Detroit’s workforce.

Grand Oak Apartments

Explore an eight-unit redevelopment designed to demonstrate how affordable housing can also be energy efficient. The project incorporates geothermal heating and cooling, rooftop solar, electric systems, and tenant Wi-Fi while targeting affordability at 60% of the Area Median Income.

The Hive on Russell

Tour a 78-unit mixed-income community connecting Eastern Market and Lafayette Park. The development combines historic preservation, affordable housing, sustainable design, community amenities, and zero-energy performance goals.
