Queer To Tell: A Storytelling Series

Queer To Tell: A Storytelling Series

Overview

Queer Stories told by Queer People in Queer Spaces in Queer NYC. Theme: It Came From The Closet, Doors: 7PM, Show: 7:30PM.

The time has come for all gay ghouls, vampy vampires, and weird witches to gather for our annual Halloween edition of Queer To Tell: a Storytelling Series at Ginger's Bar in Park Slope! The show will be hosted by our favorite undead drag king, Luxury Bones, and feature 5 LGBTQIA+ storytellers sharing their most frightening tales or stories that may have some baby scares. The show will run about an hour and a half, with a 10 minute intermission.

Theme: IT CAME FROM THE CLOSET

This show will feature a lineup of gays and theys sharing their spookiest ghost stories, their biggest costume successes and failures, the monsters they faced on their own journeys, and much more. It's going to be a very gay, very spooky-ooky, kooky night!

Seating begins at 7:00. Show starts at 7:30.

THE BAR IS CASH ONLY.

ABOUT THE SERIES:

Queer To Tell is a NYC born national storytelling series that features LGBTQIA+ storytellers, is hosted by a local drag/queer performance artist, and takes place at Queer-owned/affirming spaces across the country. The series takes place in non-traditional performance spaces to create a space that feels like an intimate gathering audiences are happening upon rather than a theatrical performance. Each show has a different theme that allows for storytellers to share the universal experiences we as a community share but also the nuances of our different identities. This series was established to document the myriad of stories that exist within the LGBTQIA+ community, facilitate and encourage community building, and claim space in places that are actively celebrating and protecting us.
