More Than a Meetup 🎉 Giving back to others is a core part of our business philosophy, and one way we give back is by making a monthly donation to MAGRA Foundation. Mission of Amazing Grace Africa believes every child belongs in a loving, stable family. We are transitioning children from institutional care back to prepared families — because a home is more than a roof.

Hop off Eventbrite to become a monthly member on our official site, Foodies + New Friends. This page is to become part of a group, not to sign up for an individual date. Sign up there for portion of monthly memberships are donated to local food banks, and for other membership perks. Everytime you join a table, we support a family by putting dinner on theirs! You can also join us on Patreon.

These outings are intended to help people make friends. These are not dating gatherings. 🧍‍♂️ 🧍‍♀️

These dinners are not directly associated with the restaurants, but are simply based on a table reservation via Opentable or Resy or other reservation platforms. The pin 📍 on the map is our pre-selected restaurant but it may change per registrants' questionnaires they receive after signing. Locations are decided upon after coordinating with the group.

The Three Impacts of Every Dinner

1. Connect people.

Fight loneliness by bringing strangers together around small, intentional tables and helping turn unfamiliar faces into real connections.

2. Support local restaurants.

Direct new paying customers toward independent and family-owned restaurants—especially restaurants that could genuinely use additional business.

3. Give back.

Use every gathering to support nonprofit organizations, with a special emphasis on organizations that better living situations for family or create wishes, memories, experiences, and meaningful moments for people facing terminal illness and their families.

A Mission Rooted in Grace and Responsibility

MAGRA — Mission of Amazing Grace Africa — was born from a conviction that God's design for children is the family. We are not simply an organisation. We are a mission of faith, action, and lasting transformation.

Founded in 2013 as a school for orphans in Uganda, MAGRA grew into an orphanage when children had nowhere safe to go. Today, guided by global best practices and professional training with Hope and Homes for Children, we are actively transitioning children back into prepared, strengthened families.

This is not an ending. It is a new and better beginning.
