Agenda

Our Italian Courses

Our Italian courses are designed to be taken progressively, based on your previous knowledge of Italian: Novice → Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced. If you’re not sure which level is right for you, email us at languageschool@gtfny.org and we’ll be happy to help you find the best fit!

1. Italian Novice (A1)

The Novice (A1) course is designed for students who are approaching the study of Italian for the first time. What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments: Participants will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at social interaction of informal type. They will be able to introduce themselves and others and ask/answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they like to do.

2. Italian Beginner I (A1/A2)

The Beginner I (A1/A2) course is designed for students who have already been introduced to the Italian language and are beginning to use the language in familiar situations. What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments: Participants will be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g., very basic personal and family information, studying, making calls, and dinner with friends). Will be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
