Learn to create personal affirmation zines at this hands-on workshop led by Musu Bangura!
RSVPs are on a sliding scale; suggested donation is $10 and go towards materials provided.
Zines don’t always have to be shared with others: sometimes zines can serve as personal archives. This hands-on workshop will guide you step-by-step on making your own affirmation mini zine. Participants are encouraged to bring personal archival materials (old journals, letters, keepsakes, photos, magazine/newspaper clippings, etc) to include in their zines. Zine making supplies will be provided. Each participant will leave with their own mini zine filled with personal affirmations and love letters to self.
This workshop will be led by Musu Bangura, an artist originally from Washington, D.C. and currently residing in Chicago. They are the author of the essay-book "...Considers Lil' Kim's Hard Core," and their work has been published in New Delta Review, Apogee Journal, Southeast Review, and more. Musu is a teaching artist at the Chicago Poetry Center.
