How old do children need to be to participate?

Pro SUP Shop has lifejackets for infants, toddlers, children, and youth. If your little one can sit comfortably in your lap, you can kayak with them. For this event, we recommend that children under 10yo paddle with an adult in a tandem kayak or share a paddleboard.

Can I bring my furry friend to the paddle?

Accepted Answer

Dogs are most welcome and encouraged to wear their Halloween best. Pro SUP Shop will provide canine lifejackets for pups of all sizes.

Question 3

Do we need to wear a lifejacket?

Accepted Answer

There will be an adult-size lifejacket on board all paddleboards and kayaks in case of emergency. Children 12yo and under must wear a properly fitted lifejacket while on the water. Puddle jumpers are insufficient for this event; approved lifejackets will be provided by Pro SUP Shop.

Do we have to wear witch-y attire?

Accepted Answer

While attire that evokes witches, warlocks, and wizards is highly encouraged and elicits a unique, mystical effect on the water, it is not required. Especially for children, dress in whatever Halloween costume brings them joy.

What time should we arrive?

Accepted Answer

We will gather our coven on the beach at 9am for a group photo and lesson on paddling and safety. So please try to arrive around 8:45am to allow time for parking, restroom, sunscreen, and check-in.

Where should we park for the paddle?

Accepted Answer

Witches can park in Mother's Beach parking lot #10 or in the Jamaica Bay Inn hotel parking. Both parking lots are paid lots.

How far is the post-paddle potluck from Mother's Beach?

The South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club is a 3-minute drive from Mother's Beach.

Where should we park for the potluck?

Accepted Answer

There is a parking lot at the venue, and a parking code will be provided to attendees.

Question 9

Should we bring anything for the potluck?

Accepted Answer

Feel free to bring any festive brunch dishes to contribute to the event. Pro SUP Shop can refrigerate items during the paddle, if needed. Inspired by the midnight margaritas scene in 'Practical Magic,' there will be a mocktail version to enjoy as we conjure up some magic.

What can we expect at the potluck?

Accepted Answer

In addition to enjoying festive food with your local coven, the founder of the charitable beneficiary - Resilience Rising - will give a brief presentation followed by a documentary short film. A generous witch has pledged to match donations up to $5,000 raised over the course of these events.
