Learn Modern Canasta in a fun, social 2-part beginner series—no experience necessary!
This is a two-day series. Purchase of a single ticket grants you access to class on Wednesday 10/14 and Friday 10/16.
Ready to learn Canasta? Join Canasta Guide 305 for a fun and easy-to-follow beginner series at the beautiful Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
This class is designed for complete beginners and will teach you the foundations of Modern Canasta, including card values, melding, canastas, special hands, scoring, strategy, and how to confidently play a full game.
Amy teaches visually and step-by-step, creating a relaxed and social environment where questions are always welcome. No previous Canasta experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave ready to start playing with friends and joining Canasta games around town.
What to bring: Nothing—just come ready to learn and have fun!
About Amy Portnoy:
Amy Portnoy is a certified Modern American Canasta instructor and the founder of Canasta Guide 305. Known for her visual, easy-to-understand teaching style, Amy has taught hundreds of students how to confidently play and enjoy Canasta. She is also the co-founder of Across the Table, a community platform that helps people connect through Canasta, Mahjong, and other social games.
