What if the very systems designed to be "neutral" are quietly erasing us? In 2025, only 9 of 230 AI research papers on AI and sexuality even mentioned sexual orientation or gender identity — and some language models complete prompts about LGBTQIA+ people with up to 87% offensive output. Mario Di Carlo, lawyer, diversity and AI expert, and Past President of EDGE – LGBTQIA+ Leaders for Change, has spent years investigating how algorithms amplify stereotypes and produce real-world discrimination. Drawing on the "A+I Algoritmi+Inclusivi" research project, he reveals where bias hides, who gets left behind — and why the solution is not less AI, but more inclusive AI.
