Writing the Story of Your Loss

Writing the Story of Your Loss

Overview

A three-week guided writing workshop to help you give voice to your loss and honor what you have lived. No writing experience is necessary.

Every loss holds a story—not only the story of what happened, but also the story of the love, dreams, memories, changes, and meaning connected to it.

During this intimate three-week workshop, participants will be gently guided to put their experiences into words. Through reflection, guided writing exercises, memory prompts, and meaningful conversation, they will begin shaping the story of their loss in a way that honors what they have lived and recognizes how the experience has affected their lives.

This workshop is open to anyone grieving the death of a loved one or another significant loss, including the end of a relationship, the loss of health, a home, a business, a role, or the life they expected to have.

No previous writing experience is necessary. This is not about writing perfectly or producing a finished book. It is an opportunity to give voice to an experience that may have been difficult to express and to explore the memories, emotions, changes, and meaning held within that story.

Participants will write at their own pace and decide what they feel comfortable sharing. Each session will offer a compassionate and respectful space to reflect, write, listen, and connect with others who also carry a meaningful story of loss.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will have begun creating a personal narrative that honors what was lost, acknowledges what has changed, and gives meaning to what continues to be part of their life.
