Deco & Diamonds Gala: Dessert & Dancing

Join us from 8:30pm as the Deco & Diamonds Gala transforms into something altogether more after-dark. The Bankside Bar and Lounge at The Northern Club opens its doors — and it's taking its cue from the great Prohibition-era speakeasies of the 1920s: low lighting, themed cocktails, indulgent desserts, and a dancefloor that won't quit.

About the Northern Club Foundation Gala

The Deco & Diamonds Gala is the Second Fundraising Event of the Northern Club Foundation — and its theme couldn't be more fitting. A century ago, the world emerged from a global pandemic into the Roaring Twenties: an era of bold reinvention, unapologetic glamour, and the dazzling visual language we now call Art Deco. Tonight, we're doing it all over again.

The Northern Club's home at 19 Princes Street is one of Auckland's most extraordinary buildings — a 158-year-old Category I heritage building that has been at the heart of the city since 1867. The Foundation was established to fund its ongoing restoration, and every ticket sold tonight goes directly toward that work. The Princes Street façade has been beautifully restored; the Kitchener Street elevation is next, and it is a significant undertaking.
