5-hour Immersion with Dr. Sundar Balasubramanian
This comprehensive immersion is designed for dedicated practitioners, yoga teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of yogic breathing.
Participants will explore:
- The philosophy and foundations of Pranayama
- The physiology of breath and nervous-system regulation
- Scientific discoveries including biomarker and clinical research
- Practical instruction in foundational and advanced breathing techniques
- Applications for stress reduction, healthy aging, resilience, and wellness
- Clinical perspectives from cancer survivorship and integrative health programs
The immersion concludes with a special session on “Chanting is Pranayama,” exploring how sound, vocalization, and breath function together as powerful tools for regulation, focus, and inner stillness.
Participants will leave with a practical framework for personal practice as well as a deeper understanding of the science behind breath-based interventions.

BIO:
Dr. Sundar Balasubramanian, PhD, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, Director of the Radiation Medicine Wellness Program, and founder of PranaScience Institute. His pioneering research explores the biological effects of yogic breathing, including salivary biomarkers, stress physiology, and clinical applications for cancer survivorship and wellness. With decades of experience in yoga, Pranayama, and scientific research, he is recognized internationally for presenting ancient breathing practices through the lens of modern science while preserving their practical and transformative essence.
