A rare introductory foundry workshop where you will learn the basics of making a multi-part mold.
This will be a 3 day workshop where you will bring an object to cast and we will create a 2 part resin-bonded sand mold also known as a "Cope and Drag" mold.
Almost any material is moldable but remember this is a beginner workshop to foundry mold making! If you have questions before class, please email me! (Vosssteph@gmail.com)
If you are creating your pattern in wax, a 50$ fee will be added for burn out time that will take place during non workshop hours, due during class. If your pattern is a rigid material like wood, you want a draftable pattern. Working with Plastacine clay is IDEAL.
I will send a more in depth email prior to the workshop clarifying some terms and send another agenda :)

OCT 23: Assess Patterns/Build flasks
Bring your pattern, we will assess, start building flasks and start creating our two part molds to prepare for ramming.
OCT 24: Ram sand/Remove Patterns
We will continue building flasks, parting molds and ramming our first and second parts.
OCT 25: Finish ramming/Process molds
Finish ramming second part, remove flasks, vent/gate (process) molds
