Blessing of the Animals at Christ Church Cathedral

Bring your best friend for a blessing!

Dogs, cats, birds, and beloved animal companions of all kinds are invited to Christ Church Cathedral for our annual Blessing of the Animals, a joyful outdoor gathering celebrating the creatures who share our lives.

Held in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and creation, this special service is an opportunity to give thanks for the companionship, joy, and love animals bring into our homes and our world. Bring your animal companion to Nancy’s Garden, where clergy from Christ Church Cathedral will offer blessings for the animals gathered.

Whether your companion has paws, feathers, scales, or something in between, all are welcome. Come meet other animal lovers, enjoy the beautiful grounds of Houston’s historic downtown Cathedral, and celebrate the wonderful creatures who enrich our lives.
