Who should attend this session?

Undergraduate students who expected to graduate by December 2027 or May - August 2028., and are interested in public policy, international and global affairs, and public service; considering graduate school,; exploring PPIA; or thinking about applying to Junior Summer Institute.

How will I receive the Zoom link?

Register using an email address you check regularly. Your Zoom link will be sent to the email address you used to register on Thursday, October 1. Add Tuesday, October 6, 6–7 p.m. ET to your calendar in the meantime.

What is Inside the Junior Summer Institute?

A one-hour, virtual conversation with past PPIA Fellows who will share what their JSI summer was really like, from coursework and campus life to friendships, challenges, and memorable moments.

Question 4

Is this an application information session?

Accepted Answer

The focus is the JSI experience itself. You’ll still have opportunities to ask questions that can help you decide whether JSI is right for you.

Will Fellows from every JSI location participate?

We’ll feature past Fellows who can speak to their individual JSI experiences. Experiences may vary by institute, but the conversation will give you a better sense of what the summer can be like across the program.

Will I be able to ask the Fellows questions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Live Q&A is a major part of the session. Bring the questions you would want to ask someone who has already been through JSI.

Question 7

Do I need to attend the September 23 session first?

Accepted Answer

No. Each session can stand on its own. If you are new to PPIA and JSI, the September 23 session provides a helpful introduction before hearing directly from Fellows.

What should I expect to leave with?

A much more realistic picture of JSI and a better sense of whether the experience aligns with what you want from your summer and your longer-term goals.
