The Impact and Innovation Development Center (Uganda) and Center on Gender Equity and Health (USA) invite you to join us for an interactive event to explore the research, adaptation, and scale-up activities from over a decade of implementation of REAL Fathers in Uganda.

REAL Fathers – Responsible, Engaged, and Loving Fathers – is a gender-transformative father mentoring program designed to strengthen positive parenting, promote nonviolent child discipline, and improve respectful couple communication among young fathers and their partners in Uganda.

This event includes interactive presentations, video testimonials, and a panel discussion to relate REAL Fathers’ journey from proof of concept to national-scale implementation. Three focused presentations will highlight:

1. How social norms research informed adaptation and alignment with national policy priorities for expansion;
2. Video testimonials of fathers, partners, and mentors collected through the Most Significant Change methodology; and
3. Evidence from implementing partners and the evaluation team on short-and longer-term program impacts.

The session will conclude with reflections on scaling interventions that seek to transform social norms and behaviors across violence prevention, gender equality, health, and early childhood development, highlighting lessons for sustainability, institutionalization, and continued learning.
