Join us as we close out our current gallery show, Mark Reeves: Eye to Eye

Mark Reeves has spent decades honing his craft, and his images show it. A cursory glance might classify this body of work as "street photography" - a genre often filled with clever detachment and cool distance. Eye to Eye is the diametric opposite. Each image in this masterfully selected grouping reinforces the one before it and informs the one that follows. Mark's beautifully composed photographs engage the eye and, in every case, pull strongly at the heart - demanding real engagement with the individuals pictured.

This isn't the work of a photographer who keeps his distance. It's the work of someone who has earned his subjects' trust through genuine rapport. Walking through Eye to Eye, what emerges - and what becomes overwhelming by the time you've completed the viewing - is another portrait entirely: that of a humanist photographer with a deeply empathic heart, whose meticulous prints honor those often-overlooked "faces in the crowd."
