Join the Kennedy Institute on Friday, November 6th at 5:30pm for an evening with acclaimed author Nathaniel Philbrick as he discusses his latest work, The Rush: California Gold, the Civil War, and Making of the Modern World.

In The Rush, Philbrick explores how the California Gold Rush and the pursuit of wealth helped set the nation on a path toward the Civil War—and how the forces unleashed during this pivotal period continue to shape American culture today.

Philbrick is the author of eight New York Times bestselling works of American history, including In the Heart of the Sea, winner of the National Book Award; and Mayflower, finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in History.

Robert Cocuzzo - journalist, author, former editor of N Magazine and founder of Legacy Literature - will moderate the conversation, which will be followed by a book signing with the author in the lobby.

There are two ticket options for this event:

1. Admission-Only Ticket - admission for one
2. Admission With Book-Included Ticket - admission for one plus one copy of The Rush.

Please be aware that books can only be picked up at the event. If you are unable to attend the event, you may pick up your book at the Kennedy Institute during opening hours for up to 30 days following the event. Books will not be held after 30 days, and we cannot guarantee signed copies for registrants who are unable to attend the event.
