A multi-disciplinary exhibition that explores the life and work of jessica Care moore.
How does a little girl from Detroit turn poems into a life's work?
The House That Poems Built, a new upcoming multi-disciplinary exhibition at The RED Children’s Art Museum & Gallery, invites visitors to explore that question through the life, work, and creative legacy of internationally acclaimed Detroit poet, author, recording artist, playwright, publisher, curator, filmmaker, and visual artist jessica Care moore.
Presented by the Detroit arts nonprofit Live Coal, the immersive exhibition brings together original broadsides, archival materials, photography, graphic design, digital media, sound, video, original artworks, and interactive technology to explore the people, places, ideas, and artistic practices that have shaped moore's career. More than a celebration of accomplishment, the exhibition considers what an artist can build over a lifetime – and what that creative legacy makes possible for the generations that follow.
VIP Tickets include an intimate reception with poet jessica Care moore, first access to purchase her artwork, and light refreshments.
